Procedure for Registration of Power of Attorney

At Overseas POA Services, one of the most common questions we receive from Overseas Pakistanis is how to register a Power of Attorney while residing abroad and what steps to follow.

Step-by-Step Procedure:

Step 1: Registration by the Executant (Person Giving Power of Attorney): Option 1: For Residents in the UK and USA: Create an account on NADRA's online platform. Submit your details, attorney's details, witness information, and document contents. Provide fingerprints and complete the payment process. Attend a scheduled video call for witness and verification. After verification, download the attested Power of Attorney from your account and forward it to your representative in Pakistan. No further attestation is required.

Option 2: For Residents Outside the UK and USA: Draft a Power of Attorney (or have your lawyer prepare it). Visit the Pakistan Consulate in your resident country for registration. Send the original registered document to your representative in Pakistan via Mail/Courier

Step 2: Attestation in Pakistan: Once your representative receives the Power of Attorney, they must seek attestation from the Foreign Office in Pakistan. For a General Power of Attorney concerning immovable property, additional attestation from the concerned Registrar is required. Security and Privacy Assurance: We prioritize the privacy and security of our clients' data. Our security protocols ensure that all documents and records remain confidential and secure. We have a proven track record of never misplacing or damaging any client documents, giving our clients peace of mind when entrusting us with their valuable records.
